ATCA and FrogBox partner to grow community cricket through streaming

The Adelaide Turf Cricket Association (ATCA) has partnered with FrogBox to make live streaming more accessible across its competition and help clubs connect more of their cricket with their wider communities.
As part of the partnership, FrogBox has supported ATCA in making streaming more accessible to its clubs and will also become the naming sponsor of one of the ATCA grades.
While the partnership provides practical support for clubs, the bigger opportunity is to continue building the digital presence of the competition as more matches are streamed.
For clubs, streaming provides another way for members, families, former players and supporters to stay connected when they cannot be at the ground. It also gives clubs more content to promote their teams and players, while creating additional exposure and opportunities for local sponsors.
When that happens across a competition, the impact extends beyond an individual club. More matches become accessible, more moments from across the league can be shared and the competition has a stronger platform to promote community cricket throughout the season.
It also comes at a time when community sports streaming continues to become easier and more accessible. Improvements across capture technology, streaming workflows and the way content is presented to supporters are reducing many of the barriers that once made regular streaming difficult for volunteer-run clubs.
ATCA Executive Officer Shane McMillan said the partnership was about supporting clubs while continuing to grow the profile and reach of the competition.
“Streaming gives our clubs another way to connect with their members and supporters and showcase the cricket being played across the ATCA. By helping make FrogBox more accessible to our clubs, we hope to see more matches streamed and more opportunities for clubs to promote their players, partners and communities.
The ATCA sees great value in the streaming of matches, not only through increased engagement but also through the highlights and clips clubs can share on social media to promote their players and the competition. It also creates lasting memories for players and families, preserving special moments for years to come.
We're proud to have partnered with FrogBox to secure a fantastic deal for our clubs. It's just another way we're working to support clubs and enhance the cricket experience across the ATCA.”
FrogBox Head of Commercial Operations Zac Goodchild said league support can play an important role in helping streaming become part of the normal match-day experience.
“We see the greatest impact when a competition gets behind streaming and helps its clubs participate. It becomes much more than putting an individual match online. Over time, you start to build a stronger digital presence for the whole competition, with more cricket for supporters to watch, more content for clubs to share and more value that can be created for sponsors.”
We’ve made a lot of progress in recent years in making streaming simpler and more practical for community sport, but that only really comes to life when leagues and clubs see the value in it and actively get behind it. ATCA clearly does, and we’re really pleased to be partnering with them as they continue to grow the reach of their competition.”
The partnership will commence ahead of the upcoming ATCA season, with clubs able to access the supported FrogBox offering as they prepare for the season ahead.
